A player leaves the controller on the table and still collects every reward
In a long group session someone walks away but stays in the party, and the others fight for them. Kicking idle players is rude and they may simply be waiting to be revived. Here is a fair way to decide who counts as playing right now when the reward is shared.
Why this works
A reward is for the people doing the work, so a share paid to someone who is not there is just lost to everyone else. Dividing among those who are active, and counting a downed teammate as still in the fight, pays effort and not presence.
When not to use it
Skip it in a relaxed game where friends drift in and out, chat or watch, and a strict idle rule would feel like surveillance. There share the prize evenly and trust the group; use this rule only where leeching is a real problem.
