Spielerando

A player joins for the last ten seconds of a boss fight and gets the full credit

Progress that counts a boss kill for everyone present is easy to abuse by joining at the end, and unfair to someone whose connection broke and came back twice. Here is a way to measure how long a player truly took part, even when their join records overlap or are messy.

Why this works

Being present is about time actually covered, not about how many records say so. Merging overlapping stretches before adding them up stops the same minutes from counting twice, so a half-time visitor cannot look like a full one.

When not to use it

Skip it when the fight is a short burst or when helping late is part of the story, for example a rescue that arrives at the last moment. Then a presence rule feels petty, and crediting everyone who took part is kinder.
