Turn a walking time into the words a local would use, never too optimistic

"Two days from here" for a trip of three hours, or "a short walk" for most of a day, and the player runs out of food or loses trust. Here is how to turn exact minutes into the vague phrases people really use, so that the phrase rounds the right way and stays close to the truth.

Why this works

People round travel times to speak naturally, but a wrong guess costs more in one direction: arriving late, hungry or in the dark hurts, while arriving early does not. So a local rounds up, within a limit that keeps the words honest.

When not to use it

Skip it when the speaker is a stranger, a liar or a child who does not know the road. Their phrases should be wrong, in their own way. Then pick a phrase from the character's voice and let the player learn not to trust it.
