Find predators whose hunting grounds overlap more than the lore allows

Two packs that each rule the same valley cannot both be telling the truth, but a pair of rivals touching at the edge is just good drama. Here is how to measure how much of the smaller territory the other one covers, and to let pairs that are meant to share do so.

Why this works

What the reader senses is how much ground two rulers fight over, not whether their borders touch. Comparing the shared area with the smaller territory tells you if it reads as a frontier or as one place claimed twice.

When not to use it

Skip it when territories are drawn by hand as odd shapes, or when the overlap is the story, such as two packs at war over a valley. Round shapes would mislead you there. Judge those places by eye or with the real outlines.
