Spielerando

Is the gap between rich and poor players about skill, or only about hours played?

Veterans naturally own more than newcomers, so a single inequality figure for all players says little. This entry shows how to compare players who have played about the same time and spot economies that run away.

Why this works

Veterans own more simply because they have played longer, so one figure for everyone mixes time with skill. Comparing players of similar playtime shows whether early winners really snowball or whether the gap is only hours.

When not to use it

Skip it in small games with few players per group, where one rich player swings the figure. Also skip it when wealth sits in things that cannot be traded. Then look at who owns the scarce goods instead.
