Write dialogue that works for any pronoun the player chooses
When the hero can be she, he or they, a sentence like the one you wrote for one choice reads wrong for the others, and a verb stays singular after a plural pronoun. Here is how to write the line once and have it come out right every time.
Why this works
A sentence is built from parts that must agree, and the reader notices at once when they do not. Writing the line once with gaps and letting each choice fill them keeps every version correct without separate copies that drift apart.
When not to use it
Skip it when the hero has a fixed identity set by the story, or in a language where the forms depend on more than the pronoun, so a few gaps do not suffice. There write the variants by hand or reword the lines to avoid the issue.
