Spielerando

Let a watched ad speed up a craft, even when the craft finishes during the ad

Watch a short ad and the waiting time is cut in half. Fine, until the job finishes while the ad is still playing, or the player watches the same ad twice for one job, or the app is closed during the ad. This entry applies the boost at the moment the ad is actually completed and never takes the player's time for nothing.

Why this works

The player earned the speed-up when the ad finished, not when they chose to watch it, so the reward is measured from that moment. A boost only ever helps, never hurts: it cannot move the end later, and one ad pays once, however often the message arrives.

When not to use it

Do not tie progress to ads where players are young, or where an ad could appear in the middle of something tense. Offer the same speed-up for a small amount of in-game currency, or let waiting stay free and short.
