Spielerando

Give recipe experience that fades when the same cheap recipe is spammed

Each craft earns experience toward a mastery level, and soon players discover that the cheapest recipe, crafted a thousand times, levels them up fastest. The game turns into a button to hold. This entry makes repeated crafts of one recipe give less and less, lets that recover while the player is away, and handles several levels gained at once.

Why this works

Players do what pays best, so a reward that never shrinks invites the dullest possible play. Letting repeats pay less, while never paying nothing, nudges people toward variety without making any recipe worthless. Cooling over time forgives a break.

When not to use it

Do not use it in a game where repeating one craft is the whole point, such as a relaxed idle loop or a skill that really is trained by repetition. There it feels like a tax; give steady rewards and gate progress some other way.
