Sort a long recipe list on a small screen so what you can make comes first

A phone shows six recipes at a time, and the list has sixty. Alphabetical order hides the one you can craft right now. The recipes that are one ingredient short deserve the next places, and locked ones the last. This entry orders the list that way, with a stable result, and how many copies you can make.

Why this works

On a small screen the top of the list is all that most people see, so it should answer the question they came with: what can I make now? Then what is nearly within reach, then the rest. Comparing shares rather than raw counts keeps near misses honest.

When not to use it

Keep a fixed order when players learn the list by position, such as a tutorial chapter or a well-known tech tree; a list that reshuffles after every pickup is disorienting. Offer the smart order as a filter or a tab instead.

In the full entry

  • What to build, step by step
  • Starting values and the reason for each
  • 3 common mistakes and the fix
  • 30 lines of example code with 5 checks that pass
  • How your AI shows you that it works
