Send one "your potion is ready" notification, not five and not at 3 a.m.
Crafting jobs finish at different times, and the phone should tell the player. Five buzzes in a row feel like spam, and one at three in the morning gets the app deleted. This entry groups jobs that finish close together into one message, moves the ones that fall in the night to the morning, and merges what then lands at the same moment.
Why this works
A message is welcome when it brings news at a moment the person can use it. Because you know in advance when each job ends, you can plan the messages up front, join close ones into one, and move any that fall in the night to the morning.
When not to use it
Do not push a message at all for players who did not ask for one, or for anything that is not time-sensitive. A quiet badge inside the game respects them more. Ask first, and make it easy to turn off.
