Close a limited-time crafting event without cheating players out of what they started
A seasonal event has special materials and special recipes, and then it ends. Players with a half-finished craft, a queue of jobs, or a pile of leftover event materials are the ones who write angry reviews. This entry says which jobs still pay out, which get their materials back, and how leftovers become something fair.
Why this works
The player acted in good faith under the rules they were shown, so anything begun in time should be honoured and anything not yet begun should be returned. Settling against the stored end moment, not the moment someone looks, gives everyone the same fair result.
When not to use it
Do not convert leftovers at all if the event materials are meant to be kept for a returning event; players then feel robbed. Let them stay in the bag, or convert only a part, and say so well before the end.
