Do players die with healing items still in their bag, and why?

A death with a full medicine stack looks like a player mistake, but it can also mean the fight was too fast or healing is awkward to use. This entry shows how to split deaths into the kinds that need different fixes.

Why this works

Dying with medicine left has more than one cause, and each needs a different fix. The time between first danger and death separates a fight too fast to answer from a player who could have healed.

When not to use it

Skip it when healing is meant to be scarce and risky, such as a slow action that leaves you open, since not using it can be the right call. Judge those by whether the choice looks sensible, not by what remained.
