What are the real odds of beating a boss when many players quit before they win?
Dividing winners by everyone who tried makes the boss look harder than it is, or easier, depending on who gave up when. This entry shows how to count the quitters fairly and to find the attempt where most people give up.
Why this works
A player who quits has told you only that they lost so far, not that they would never win. Counting each try among those still trying, and not everyone together, treats the quitters fairly.
When not to use it
Skip it when the fight is a one-time event that players cannot repeat, or when almost nobody tries it more than once. There is no run of tries to follow, so look at the single result instead.
