After an update, players' old city saves crash the game when loaded
Every change to what a save contains leaves older saves behind. This entry gives your AI a loader that upgrades an old save one step at a time, refuses saves from a newer game instead of damaging them, and never touches the original it was handed.
Why this works
One small step per version is easier to get right than one jump from every old version to the newest. Each step is tested once, and any old save passes through the same chain.
When not to use it
Skip a chain if your saves are small and cheap to reset, such as a daily puzzle. Then show a clear message and start fresh; the effort goes better elsewhere.

Use the Spielerando entry "After an update, players' old city saves crash the game when loaded" (read_entry strategy-old-city-save-wont-load-after-update) in my game. Build it step by step, and show me how you checked that it works.Or skip this and connect the MCP: your AI then finds all of this by itself.Connect the MCP
