A character's strength never grows because every level adds less than one point
If a stat should grow by a fraction per level, rounding it at each level step either freezes it or inflates it. Here is how to give every level its fair share, so the total at any level is right and nobody gets short-changed.
Why this works
Rounding a small gain at every step makes the same small mistake over and over, and it all adds up. Working out the total from the level directly makes the mistake happen once, so the result is right at any level.
When not to use it
Skip it when stats should come from choices, gear or training rather than a fixed curve. Then growth is not a formula but a record; store the stat itself and add what the player earns.
