Spielerando

On the second playthrough the story remembers things from the first one

A door that is already open, a friend who is already dead, a score that does not start at zero: something was not put back when the new game began. This entry gives your AI a way to list exactly which pieces of memory were left behind.

Why this works

A new game must start from a pristine copy, not from the same object the last game was changing. Comparing the fresh start with what is there after a reset shows exactly which pieces were never put back, instead of guessing from symptoms.

When not to use it

It does not help when the leftover is meant to stay, such as unlocked extras or a best score across games. Then the real job is to keep those in a separate place from the story memory, and the list will keep naming them.

In the full entry

  • What to build, step by step
  • Starting values and the reason for each
  • 3 common mistakes and the fix
  • 22 lines of example code with 3 checks that pass
  • How your AI shows you that it works

Say this to your AI

Use the Spielerando entry "On the second playthrough the story remembers things from the first one" (read_entry second-playthrough-keeps-old-state) in my game. Build it step by step, and show me how you checked that it works.

Or skip this and connect the MCP: your AI then finds all of this by itself.Connect the MCP
