At what health do players drink healing potions, and do they wait too long?

How low players let their health sink before they heal says a lot about whether fights feel tense, unfair or pointless. This entry shows what to record at the moment of healing and how to read it without being fooled by odd values.

Why this works

How low someone lets their health sink before healing shows how they feel about the danger: late means panic or not enough warning, early means nothing was at stake. The moment of drinking is the honest signal, but only if health is read before the potion works.

When not to use it

It tells you little in games where healing happens by itself or by waiting, or where potions are so rare that every use is a special case. And it shows what players did, not why: a late drink can be skill, not panic. Ask a few players before you change the game.
