Spielerando

Show "time left" for a slow quest that never says done too early or "0 minutes"

The label says ready or zero minutes while the bar is still short, or it shows two minutes when only one second more was needed, because of tiny errors in decimals. Here is how to round, when to switch to days, and what to print when nothing is moving.

Why this works

A time left is a promise that nothing will be ready before it. Rounding up can only ever be a little late, never early, so the label never says done while the bar is short. Tiny decimal errors are wiped out first.

When not to use it

Skip it when the player needs a running clock to the second, as in a race or a short fuse, or when the speed swings so much that any estimate is wrong. Show a live countdown or just the bar there.
