Is my parry window too tight, or just in the wrong place?

When most parries fail, widening the window is not always the answer. This entry shows how to read early and late presses from the log to decide whether the window needs to grow or just move.

Why this works

Misses that tilt to one side mean the window sits in the wrong place, while misses on both sides mean it is too narrow. The fix differs, and a steady tilt often comes from screen or input delay the player cannot feel.

When not to use it

Do not tune it this way if the parry is meant to be a precise, high-risk skill. There, keep the window tight and teach it well, since widening it removes what makes it satisfying.
