Show the right name in old chat lines after a player renames their hero

A hero changes name halfway through the session and now the log reads as if "Aldric" had said things only "Mira" could have said. Here is how to keep lines tied to the person, which name to show for old lines, and the order problem with late-arriving renames.

Why this works

A line in a log records who spoke, and a name is only a label that can change. Keeping the person and the label apart lets old lines stay true while you choose per reader whether the past should read as it was or as things are now.

When not to use it

Skip it when names can never change, or when the log is erased at the end of each session. Also skip it when a rename is meant to hide a past, as with a witness in protection: then the old name must disappear from view.
