My character visibly snaps when the host corrects its position
Sometimes the host disagrees about where you stand by a hair, and the picture jumps. Smoothing it sounds simple, but blending the wrong thing makes the character swim or lets a real teleport crawl across the map. Here is what to keep, what to fade, and when to simply jump.
Why this works
The truth must change at once, but the picture does not have to. Keeping the gap between old and new as a separate, shrinking shift lets the real position be right immediately while the eye sees a smooth glide instead of a jolt.
When not to use it
Do not glide a big error; it looks like walking through walls. When the gap is large, or after a respawn or portal, jump straight to the new spot. In a game where a pure fair outcome matters more than looks, draw the true position.
