Spielerando

Give every teammate the credit they earned for a defeated enemy

Whoever lands the last hit gets all the glory and the reward, even if three others did the work, and teammates start to avoid helping. Counting only the final blow is simple and unfair in a team game. Here is a way to credit recent damage fairly, split the reward, and still honour the one who finished it.

Why this works

In a team the last hit is luck, and the work was spread. Crediting recent damage by its size rewards helping, so players soften a hard enemy for others instead of waiting to steal the final blow.

When not to use it

Skip it when the game is a contest between players, where the last hit should be the whole point, or when the reward is a single item that cannot be split. There use the final blow, or hand the item out by the loot rule.
