Fast-forwarding through a scene leaves the camera in the wrong place

Players who skip or fast-forward expect to arrive exactly where the scene would have ended, but many camera moves stop short, or fire their ending twice. Here is how to speed up safely and finish exactly once.

Why this works

Skipping should not run the motion faster; it should arrive where the motion would have ended. A jump straight to the finished result is exact and happens once, so anything waiting for the end always hears about it, and no later step builds on a half-done view.

When not to use it

Skip it when the motion itself carries the story, such as a slow reveal or a chase the player must watch, and when ending early would hide a clue. There, let the player speed up but not skip, or offer a recap afterwards.
