Handle the same bonus cast by two teammates without stacking or losing it

Two players cast the same strengthening spell on one person. Stacking both is too strong, and letting the last one replace the first can turn a strong bonus into a weak one early. This entry shows what to keep and how the weaker one comes back when the stronger ends.

Why this works

A bonus from two sources should neither pile up nor be lost. Keeping each caster's effect apart and using the strongest one still running means a weak late cast cannot cancel a strong one, and when the strong one ends the weaker still helps.

When not to use it

Skip it when stacking is the design, such as a bonus that grows with every ally or a class built around many casters. Allow the sum there, with a ceiling, and tell the players about it.
