Learning paths through this topic
A bug only happened in one long play session and I cannot repeat it
A tester died to something odd after two hours and sent you a recording with thousands of actions. Nobody can read that. This entry gives your AI a method to cut the recording down until only the few actions that matter are left.
When I sleep through the night, timed events are skipped or fire in the wrong order
Jumping the clock to morning should still cause everything that was due on the way, once and in order. This entry gives your AI a fast-forward that fires each due event at its own time, including those that repeat, and refuses to loop forever.
Hunger and falling work differently on my friend's faster computer
Everything in the game was tuned on your machine, and on another one players starve faster or slower. This entry runs the same rule at several frame speeds for the same number of seconds and shows by how much the results disagree.
When I pick up or combine stacks, a few items disappear
A full stack and a few extra items should keep the extras, not swallow them. This entry gives your AI the exact order of filling existing stacks and empty slots, with the leftover handed back to the world instead of lost.
I raised the view distance a little and the game became unplayable
Seeing a bit farther sounds cheap, but the work and memory grow much faster than the distance does. This entry lets your AI work out how many areas are really loaded for a given distance, and what the largest setting is that your budget allows.
The rain started and never stopped, or the sun never came back
Weather that gets stuck ruins a survival game quietly, and you only notice after a long session. This entry reads the weather changes of a run, measures how long each weather lasted, and flags every stretch that is longer than it was meant to be.
Testers keep dying and I cannot tell if it is one thing or many
Ten testers sent their records and everyone died, but each tells a different story. This entry gives your AI a short report that says what killed them most, at which spot, and how quickly after they appeared, so it fixes the biggest problem first.
After my AI touched the world code, my saved world looks different
You asked for a small change and now the lake you built next to is gone or the hills moved. This entry gives your AI a quick way to prove whether the world still comes out the same, and to name the first place where it does not.
