Hunger and falling work differently on my friend's faster computer
Everything in the game was tuned on your machine, and on another one players starve faster or slower. This entry runs the same rule at several frame speeds for the same number of seconds and shows by how much the results disagree.
Why this works
A rule that is applied once per picture changes with the number of pictures. Applying it per second of passed time makes the speed the same, and running both at several rates proves which is which.
When not to use it
Games that run in fixed turns do not need this. If your game steps once per player action, there is no frame speed to depend on.
