Some walls and floors I build end up inside each other
Two building pieces occupy the same space, flicker, and block each other, yet the game let you place both. This entry gives your AI a check for a whole base that lists every pair that overlaps and by how much, without being fooled by pieces that only touch.
Why this works
Pieces that share only an edge are neighbours, not a clash. Treating each piece as covering its start but not its end makes touching pieces fit and any real overlap show up with its exact area.
When not to use it
Not for pieces that are meant to overlap, such as a rug on a floor or a door in a wall. Give those a layer and compare only within a layer.
