Check that a treasure riddle with two compass lines has one findable answer

Walk from the tower on this heading and from the rock on that one, and the treasure lies where the lines meet. Here is how to calculate the meeting point, and to catch the riddles where the lines never meet, meet behind you, or cross at such a shallow angle that the spot is a guess.

Why this works

Two lines locate a point only if they cross cleanly, once, in front of you, and at a decent angle. A riddle that fails any of these looks fine on paper yet leaves the player guessing, so test where and how the lines meet.

When not to use it

Skip it when the clue is a picture, a spoken tale or a landmark the player sees directly. Compass lines add work with no gain there. Also skip it in games with no compass, where players cannot walk a precise heading.
