One teammate is connected but the story went on without them: is it a stuck state?
After a reconnect a player can be in the game and yet not part of the scene the others are in, seeing nothing happen. From the server's list they look fine. This entry shows how to recognise such stuck players from progress times and how to avoid raising false alarms.
Why this works
The list of who is online says nothing about who is seeing anything. Progress is the real sign of life: when the rest moved on and one person did not, for long enough, they are probably stuck, whereas a quiet group is just thinking.
When not to use it
Do not use it where players are allowed to split up and move at different speeds, or when someone may be in a menu on purpose. Then an alarm only nags. Let the person press a button for help.
