When a group replays a chapter, do they really choose differently?

Replays are the strongest sign that a story offers different paths, but some groups only play again for another reason and change nothing. This entry shows how to count which replays changed something and which decisions are the ones people change.

Why this works

A replay only shows real choice when something changed. Comparing against the first run, decision by decision and only where both runs had it, tells you which options are tried, and which feel too alike or too clearly best.

When not to use it

Skip it when most replays are done for another goal, such as collecting every item, where nothing is meant to change. It also misleads with few groups. Then ask a few players what they would try differently.
