Count how many players reach each step of the start, even when they skip one

A chart of where new players drop out is only honest if each person is counted once per step, and a person who skipped the tutorial must not look like someone who left in it. This entry shows how to count so the numbers add up.

Why this works

A step has been reached if the person got to it or went past it, however they travelled. Counting each person once at their furthest point keeps retries, detours and skipped parts from inflating or deflating the picture, so the steps add up.

When not to use it

Skip it when the game has no fixed order, such as an open world where people pick their own route, or when you have only a handful of players. Then count what people did, such as which areas they visited, rather than how far along a line they got.

Say this to your AI

Use the Spielerando entry "Count how many players reach each step of the start, even when they skip one" (read_entry step-reach-counts-with-skipped-steps) in my game. Build it step by step, and show me how you checked that it works.

Or skip this and connect the MCP: your AI then finds all of this by itself.Connect the MCP
