Spielerando

How many players give up on a quest, without counting the ones still working on it?

Take all players who accepted a quest and did not finish it and you get a scary number, because it includes everyone who is playing right now. This entry shows how to separate people who gave up from people who simply have not finished yet.

Why this works

Someone who has not finished yet is not someone who quit. Only people who have been gone for a long stretch can fairly count as gone, so the rate must leave out those still playing and use only the cases that have a verdict.

When not to use it

Skip it when players come back rarely and unpredictably, or when the quest is new and few have had the time to finish. There, wait longer or look at how far people got inside the quest rather than at a verdict.
