Build a cast bar that damage can slow down a little, or break when it is heavy

A cast time that nothing can disturb is no risk, and one that any scratch cancels is no fun. Here is a cast bar where light hits push the bar back a limited number of times, heavy hits break it, and the finish lands in the right frame.

Why this works

Danger should cost something without making a plan impossible. Small hits that delay a cast only a few times, and one big hit that breaks it, make the caster weigh risk against reward, while a crowd of weak enemies cannot lock them out for good.

When not to use it

Skip it in games without real-time danger, such as turn-based or story games, or where casting should feel safe and relaxed. Use a simple wait before the spell, with no interruption, instead.

Say this to your AI

Use the Spielerando entry "Build a cast bar that damage can slow down a little, or break when it is heavy" (read_entry spell-cast-bar-with-limited-pushback-and-interrupt) in my game. Build it step by step, and show me how you checked that it works.
