A dead player watching teammates skips someone or stares at a corpse

After you fall, the camera follows a teammate. When that teammate dies or leaves, the camera should move on to the right next person, and stop cleanly when nobody is left. This entry shows the small trap in doing it with a shrinking list.

Why this works

A fixed order is something your eyes can follow, while a list that shrinks and shifts makes the pointer land on the wrong person. Keeping everybody in place and only skipping the dead means next always means the next person you expect.

When not to use it

Not needed when there are only two players, or when the camera should follow the action instead of a person, such as a broadcast view that cuts to the best moment. Then pick the target by what is happening.
