Spielerando

The boss keeps turning on whoever just did the most damage

Two players trade the lead in damage and the boss runs back and forth between them, dragging the whole fight with it. This entry shows how to make a switch of target need a clear lead, why the lead differs for close and far attackers, and how a taunt fits in.

Why this works

An enemy that changes its mind every moment is unreadable and feels random. Asking for a clear lead before switching gives players time to understand who is being attacked and a real way to take or give away attention.

When not to use it

Wrong for fast chaotic games or ones where enemies should hunt the weakest or closest, like a horde that goes for whoever is nearest. There, pick the target by simple distance or health and skip the memory.
