Spielerando

How many players miss an item that can be lost forever?

Some treasures can only be picked up before the story moves on. This entry shows how to count who got them and who lost the chance, without counting players who still have time.

Why this works

A chance is not lost until the point of no return has passed. Counting only players for whom it is settled, got it or lost it, keeps those still on their way from making every item look rare early in the life of the game.

When not to use it

Wrong for items players can buy, earn again or find in a later round: nothing is lost there. Also, the fix for unfair loss is often a warning or a second chance, not a better count.
