Build a game where you run forever, jump obstacles and the pace keeps rising
An endless runner is a loop of speed, jump and spawn. The part that decides whether it is fun is an obstacle placement that is always beatable even at top speed. Here is the loop, with a rule for fair gaps and a way to prove it.
Why this works
Fairness is something you can measure. A gap between obstacles that grows with speed always leaves the player enough time to land, look and jump again, so a death feels like their mistake and not the game's.
When not to use it
Skip it when the level should be designed by hand, with set pieces, a story or a goal at the end. Random spacing suits only endless play; use authored stretches there and tune each one by testing.
