When a timer picks for a silent group, the default option looks too popular

If a group does not answer in time and the game picks for them, that pick ends up in the statistics as if people had chosen it. This entry shows how big the distortion is and how to report popularity from real choices only, keeping the count of timed-out decisions visible.

Why this works

A choice made by the clock is not a choice made by a person. Mixing the two lets the default look loved, so report popularity from real decisions only, and show how many the clock made so nobody mistakes silence for approval.

When not to use it

It does not help if you never recorded which choices the clock made; old data cannot be repaired. Also skip it if no clock ever decides. Then start recording now, and for old data say plainly that it is mixed.
