Which of my choices change nothing, so the player only thinks they matter?
Players notice when two options lead to the same place with the same result. Some of those are fine as colour, others are wasted chances. This entry lists the choices where all options end up identical, counting only what the story really remembers.
Why this works
A choice matters only through what the story later remembers or reaches. Comparing the places and memories each option can still lead to tells you whether options differ for the player, not just on the button.
When not to use it
Not every choice has to change the road. Small choices that give colour, humour or a sense of being heard are worth keeping even when the result is identical. Treat the list as a prompt for a decision, not a verdict.
