In some situations a scene shows the player no choice at all
Choices that appear only under certain conditions can all vanish at once for a player who took an unlucky mix of earlier paths. The game then waits forever. Here is how to try every combination in advance and find the ones that leave the screen empty.
Why this works
A scene only depends on the few notes its own choices mention, so you can try every on-and-off mix of them in advance. Testing only the paths you played misses the rare mix that leaves a player staring at nothing.
When not to use it
Skip it when a scene has so many conditions that trying all mixes is too much, or when the screen already always shows a way on, like a back button. Then simplify the scene or add a choice that is always there.
