Open a sea cave only at low tide, with times that move from day to day

If the cave opens at six every morning, the sea feels like a door with a timer and not like the sea. Here is how to give the tide a real rhythm that slips later each day, list the windows in which the way in is dry, and tell the player when to come back.

Why this works

Players learn a rhythm by watching it, and the sea's rhythm is not the clock's. Because the tide drifts against the day, the cave opens at different hours, and the player has to plan around the sea instead of memorising a time.

When not to use it

Skip it when the cave is part of a tight, timed story beat that must happen on a set day. A wandering window can make the player wait for hours of play. In that case open the way by a story event instead.
