A player reconnects and sees the same story scenes again: how often does it happen?
After a dropped connection the game may play scenes again that the player already saw. A normal replay on another evening looks the same in the log, so a plain count of repeats is wrong. This entry shows how to tell the two apart and how big the problem is.
Why this works
A repeated scene means different things depending on why it repeated. Only a scene shown twice within one evening, across a lost connection, is a fault of the game. Same scene on another day is the player's choice, so the two must be told apart.
When not to use it
Do not chase it when scenes repeating after a drop are intended, for example a recap that is welcome after a break. Then ask players if the replay helped. Also skip it if your game never loses connections.
