Spielerando

Which branches of my story has no tester walked yet, and which routes should they try?

With a few testers you cannot see everything, and asking them to "try other things" gets you the same favourite route. This entry lists the untouched branches and then hands out the smallest set of routes that would cover them all.

Why this works

Testers drift towards the same comfortable route, and asking them to explore rarely changes that. Treating each choice as a separate branch and handing out whole routes that cover the most untouched ones reaches everything with few people.

When not to use it

Do not use it when choices depend on earlier items or trust, since many listed routes cannot really be played. It also grows out of hand for big, widely branching stories. There, test chapter by chapter or lint the story first.
