A character shows no face because the picture name has a different spelling
Everything works on your computer, and online the speaker appears as an empty gap. The script asks for a mood the artist never drew, or the file name differs in a way only some systems care about. This entry finds both before release.
Why this works
A missing picture can mean three different things, and each has its own fix: the file is absent, the spelling differs, or a plain default could stand in. Telling them apart saves the hunt for a problem that often only appears on another computer.
When not to use it
Not useful for a game with no character pictures, or when all pictures come from one generator that always names them the same way. There, a mismatch is a bug in the generator, so fix it at the source instead.
