Several units share a kill and the experience must add up exactly
When three archers bring down one monster, each gets a third and the points that do not divide evenly quietly vanish or appear from nowhere. Over a long game the totals no longer match what the monsters were worth. This entry explains how to split by effort, who gets the odd points, and what a last-blow bonus does to the maths.
Why this works
Points are a fixed budget: whatever a kill is worth must be handed out in full, no more and no less. Whole numbers cannot split evenly, so the leftovers need a clear rule about who gets them, one that always gives the same answer.
When not to use it
Skip it when experience is not a shared budget, for example when every helper simply earns a full reward for taking part. Then the split only makes teamwork feel stingy, so give everyone the same amount instead.
