A milestone for building many different kinds should not count the same kind twice

A goal like "own buildings of many different kinds" is easy to break: ten copies of one house pass it, or the progress drops when something is torn down and the reward is lost. This entry shows what to remember, how to report tiers that were passed in one step, and how to keep a loaded save from paying twice.

Why this works

An achievement is a fact about what the player has ever done, and facts do not go away when a building does. Remembering the kinds seen and the prizes already paid means demolishing, importing or patching can never pay twice or take one back.

When not to use it

Skip it when the goal is meant to describe what stands in the town right now, such as a showcase that must be kept up. Then count current kinds and let the prize lapse, since a lasting trophy would say something untrue.
