A save made from recorded player inputs loads into a different game than it ended in

Games where everyone's moves are recorded and replayed can save almost nothing, but one tiny difference makes a long replay drift into another world. Here is how to keep a few anchor points, notice a spoiled one, and go back to the one before it.

Why this works

If the game always reacts the same way to the same inputs, a short list of what the player did is enough to rebuild any moment. Full snapshots now and then, each with a fingerprint, keep loading fast and show when something has gone wrong.

When not to use it

Wrong when the game uses luck from outside, real time, or other computers that you cannot record, since the replay then drifts away from what happened. Save the actual state instead, and keep inputs only for a replay video.

Say this to your AI

Use the Spielerando entry "A save made from recorded player inputs loads into a different game than it ended in" (read_entry save-by-replaying-inputs) in my game. Build it step by step, and show me how you checked that it works.

Or skip this and connect the MCP: your AI then finds all of this by itself.Connect the MCP
