After sleeping or loading, townspeople stand at the wrong place for the hour

People in the village go to work, to the pub and to bed. Skip the time forward or load a save, and they are all still where they were or they pile up at the door. Here is how to look up where each person is from the clock alone, with nothing to simulate.

Why this works

Where someone is follows from the time of day, so there is nothing about it to save or lose. Looking it up from a plan each time gives the right answer after any jump in time, and the plan is easy for a writer to read and edit.

When not to use it

Do not rely on a plan when characters respond to what the player does, like fleeing a fire, following the hero or being hurt. Their place then depends on events, so save it, and use the plan only as the default when they are idle.
