Spielerando

Make the rare crafting part drop eventually, but stop counting once it is not needed

A rare scope part drops from one enemy in ten, and some players kill fifty enemies and see nothing. A hidden counter fixes that, but it can also pile up luck for a part the player already carries. This entry makes the odds climb and knows when to stop.

Why this works

Random feels fair over thousands of tries but cruel over one player's evening. Raising the odds after each miss bounds the worst case while keeping the average near the intended rate. Counting only while the part is wanted stops luck from being banked for later.

When not to use it

Do not use it where scarcity itself is the point, such as a one-in-a-million trophy that is meant to be a story. Guaranteed drops cheapen it, and for those, show honest odds or give a different reward for persistence.
