Keep quest goals and progress bars working past the largest number a game can hold

Late in an idle game, goals grow until the number turns into "infinity", progress shows not a number, and the quest can never be completed. Here is a way to store huge values as a size and a power, add them, compare them, and still draw a sensible bar.

Why this works

A number has a ceiling, and past it every comparison quietly lies. Writing a huge value as a size and a power of ten moves the ceiling far away, and what is lost is only detail that was already too small to matter next to the big part.

When not to use it

Skip it when your numbers stay far below the ceiling, which is true for most games. Plain numbers are exact and simpler to save and debug. Reach for this only when growth truly runs away, and consider capping the game instead.
